Fed: Labor's tax policy to be submitted to Treasury

Labor leader MARK LATHAM says his tax policy and others still to be unveiled will be
handed to the Treasury for independent scrutiny.

Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD has urged the Opposition to have the tax policy costed by
Treasury and the Department of Finance to ensure it adds up.

Mr LATHAM says he'll submit policies under the charter of budget honesty.

He's urged the government to follow suit, saying in the last campaign the government
didn't fully comply with its own charter and didn't submit all its own policies.
