NSW: State holiday toll rises to seven

SYDNEY, April 24 AAP - The New South Wales Easter-Anzac Day holiday road toll has
risen to seven with the death of a 19-year-old woman.

The woman, from Dee Why on Sydney's northern beaches, was driving north on the Newell
Highway at Peak Hill, in central NSW, when the car struck a bridge support railing, rolled
and skidded several metres on its side about 3pm (AEST) yesterday, police said.

A police spokesman said the woman was dead on arrival at Peak Hill hospital.

A male passenger, also 19 and from Dee Why, was treated in hospital for lacerations, he said.

Initial investigations showed speed might have contributed to the accident, the spokesman said.
