Qld: Rain poses voting problems

Heavy rain in far northern and western Queensland may cause delays with voting in the
February 17 state election.

Pre-poll voting began last week but since then dozens of roads throughout far northern
and western Queensland have been closed due to heavy rain.

More rain is expected over the next few weeks.

The far north Queensland seats of Mt Isa and Cook, which take in flood-prone Cape York
and the Gulf country, have been the hardest hit.
