ISLAMABAD, March 12 Asia Pulse - National Telecom Corporation (NTC) Saturday announced a reduction in its broadband tariff for DSL services in order to facilitate its subscribers as well as help aggressive implementation of government policies on e-enable and IT development.
Officials said that enhanced quality of service, fast downloading, NTC has increased its international Bandwidth more than four times (from 78 Mbps to 310 Mbps). They said the aim in enhancing the service and reducing charges was to extend Internet access to every nook and corner of the country for the changing environment and paving the way to establish knowledge-based economy and enhance e-awareness of the society.
They said new reduced tariffs of broadband for government functionaries have been made as low as Rs 650 (around US$10), which could play vital role in speedy penetration of broadband services. They said NTC has activated Internet for all of its designated subscribers through dial-up access (Access Telephone No. 93199998, login-ntc, password ntc).
They said all government serving/retired officers and officials having NTC Telephone number (with 92 and 93 prefix) can avail these facilities only detailed information is available at NTC website www.ntc.net.pk.
